Abia Warriors to end the slump, says Efugh

By Zazi Bariza

Chinedu Efugh says Abia Warriors cannot afford to repeat the mistake of last season, which saw them collapse from a good start to escaping the drop on the final day.

Having gathered six points in their opening two matches this term, including an opening day win at last season's champions Rangers, the Okey Emordi-led side have only managed a single win in five other outings, prompting fears of a repeat of last season's capitulation.

Efugh, however, is of the opinion that the Warriors have learnt their lessons and will not lay down their arms until the end of the season.

"I believe everybody learns from their mistakes.

"The team already know what caused them to move from winning to fighting relegation last season; so I believe such thing will not happen again."

Abia Warriors' next fixture is an away trip to Nasarawa United in week 8 of the NPFL.
