SSS hold on to Maigari, Green

By: Tunde Eludini

Despite his resignation letter resurfacing again and his tenure expiring on Tuesday, August 25, embattled Alhaji Aminu Magari  as well as the duo of Barrister Chris Green(former Chairman technical committee) and Barrister Musa Amadu (former NFF General Secretary) are said to be still held in the custody of men of the state security service(SSS).

Though the trio are said to have been invited to answer some ‘routine questions’, gathered that series of financial allegations leveled against the hitherto powerful NFF big wigs is tops on the reasons why they are being held.

Inside sources further revealed to that the invitation by the SSS may just have kick-started thorough investigations into the four-year reign of Magari as President of the NFF.

There are insinuations that the anti-graft body may as well be called into the unfolding drama which may all end in the court of law where all parties would have to prove that they are not guilty of the allegations’ bought against them.

Like an unending cycle, the same scenario played out for the last NFF board in which they were dragged to court, albeit, very little came out of the whole show.

Meanwhile, the Congress of the NFF is still expected to continue as scheduled with the likes of Maigari may not attend owing to tenure expiration and resignation.

Top on the agenda of the Congress is to fix the date for the elections for new officials for the NFF board.
