‎Adidas Denies Terminating Contract With NFF

Adidas, the sports company that kits the Super Eagle has denied ever terminating their existing contract with Nigeria following the dissolution of the Alhaji Aminu Maigari-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Reports in certain sections of the media had reported that Adidas suspended the contract with the NFF as a result of the crisis in the Football Federation.

Adidas Public Relations Manager South Africa, Ntuli Gugu, in a response to inquiries on the status of the NFF contract with it said though the company frowns at government interference in the running of any football federation, it contract with the NFF was intact.

According to him "Adidas does not condone government interference in football and we fully support FIFA’s decision. We have share our concerns to the Nigeria Football Federation but our contract remains unchanged at this time.”

He said "FIFA has said the suspension will be lifted once the properly elected NFF officials are able to work without interference. We have not terminated the contract because we are hoping that this will be the case again soon".

The Adidas image maker noted that "if the situation does not change, we will continue our ongoing discussions with the NFF but as it stands our contract remains unchanged at this time.”
