Eagles players must redeem selves, says Keshi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi says national team players must redeem themselves as their country men have lost faith in them.
Ahead of the crunch AFCON final qualifying match against Liberia in Calabar, Keshi declared that it is now the responsibility of the Super Eagles players to win over the confidence of Nigerians.

“I understand the concern of Nigerians because over the last ten years the Eagles have been dropping in performance levels but who can right the wrong if not the players?”

“Not me because I have done my part but the players must talk to themselves and say they must right the wrong and get Nigerians to believe in them again,” Keshi said.

“The players need to wake up and there is no better time for that than now.”

Nigeria’s Super Eagles missed out on the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 and need to avoid defeat at home in Calabar to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
