Kalu Uche won’t make rash comparisons

Nigeria international midfield player, Kalu Uche says he will not be quick to compare the current national team to the one that played the World Cup in 1994.

Since Samson Siasia took over as coach of the Super Eagles, the team have played five games, scoring fourteen goals and conceding just three, leading to comparisons with the USA 1994 team.

However, Uche says he will not join the group that feel they are as good as the first Nigerian side to play at the World Cup.

“I don’t know but I do not like comparing things. I cannot start comparing 1994 to 2011 because its a long time.

“The truth is that the team is playing very well now and we have had good results along the way but to make that comparison is not a good idea,” Uche told naijafootball247.com.

“1994 is gone and gone forever and this is 2011. I believe people should let us play like who we are and forget about all these comparisons and if we continue like this I am sure we will get something good by 2014.”
