How Flying Eagles performed against Croatia

The Flying Eagles on Thursday defeated Croatia 5-2 to qualify for the round of sixteen of the ongoing FIFA World Youth Championship.

The John Obuh led boys were a delight to watch as they created chances at will but have also shown they are vulnerable to set pieces and the defence is shaky.

The Coach needs to sort this out fast as a better team would have punished them.

Ayodeji Adegbenro runs the rule on the ratings of the players;

DAMI PAUL : Had little to do but conceded twice, he should organize his defence better and needs to decide either to come for the ball or stay on his line rather than been caught in no man’s land. 6/10

EMMANUEL ANYANWU: Solid Performance from the Enyimba man. 7/10

GANIYU OGUNGBE/KENETH OMERUO: the pair needs to improve their understanding as there seems to be a lack of cohesion between them.

TERNA SUSWAM (In pic): he is the second most experienced player in the team, though playing in an unfamiliar Position, the Vitoria Setubal player oozed class. 2 assists and a wonderful goal (a contender for goal of the tournament) says it all. 8.5/10

PHILEMON DANIEL: good all round display, he shielded the defence well and also contributed to the attack. 7/10

RAMON AZEEZ : Captain fantastic. His pass selection was a beauty to watch, he kept things simple but was very effective. To think he was almost dropped from the squad! 8/10

ABDULJELEEL AJAGUN : the dolphins man had a quiet game by his standards, he tried to do too much which was his undoing. 6/10

AHMED MUSA : one word; AWESOME! One goal, two assists, endless mesmerizing runs, he is arguably the best player to come out for Nigeria in the last 20years!

KAYODE OLANREWAJU: Solid display capped up with a goal. 7/10

EDAFE EGBEDI: had a quiet game. 5/10

UCHE NWOFOR: he is a natural born finisher, scored a brace within 5 minutes of replacing Egbedi, great technique, great execution. 7.5/10
