Ajiboye out of Ghana cracker

Nigeria's U23 goal keeper Dele Ajiboye is ruled out of the Ghana Nigeria second round second leg All Africa Games qualifier this weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Complex Kumasi.

Dele suffered a right shoulder injury in the first leg game a fortnight ago in Benin but managed to finish the match.

However after thorough examination of the injury by a consortium of orthopaedics surgeons, radiologists the team doctor, Dr Ogbondeminu, Samuel at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) Idi-Araba, the Pontavendra of Spain safe hands was advised to rest the shoulder as further aggravation could result to a career threatening situation.

The former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper will be sideline for three weeks.” Its painful because this is a crucial game but I will keep to the doctors advice as my career is also on the line. But I have confidence in the other goal keepers we have in camp” said Dele Ajiboye.

Following this development, Kano Pillars goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhia who was earlier placed on standby has been included in the 20 man list earlier made public.

Nigeria takes a 3-1 first leg advantage to Kumasi in a winner takes all encounter for the 10th All Africa games in Maputo next September.

The Ghana Nigeria All Africa games qualifier kicks off by 4pm Nigeria Time at the Baba Yara Sports Complex, Kumasi.
