Rabiu charges colleagues to beat Liberia

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim has charged his team mates to play as a unit this weekend when the National U-23 team file out against their Liberian counterpart in the second leg first round, All Africa games qualifier.

Rabiu speaking before departing for the Netherlands on Wednesday urged his colleagues not to under rate the Liberians but play to the instructions of Coach Austin Eguavoen.

“It will not be an easy game. But I trust my team mates to live up to the billing. They are a good side with a lot of tall attackers. So I would advice my colleagues to play as a unit because I know the Liberians will be out to frustrate our pattern of plan. But above all they must play to the Coaches instructions,” Rabiu appealed.

The Former U17 national team playmaker who rued his lack of action this weekend due to a knee injury expressed confidence that the Olympic Football Team will triumph over their Liberian opponents.

“But you know I have no doubt in my mind; looking at the array of talent at the disposal of the coach, I even feel sorry for Eguavoen because he faces the challenge of selection. I only wish I was there.”
